A 250-metre prestressed concrete bridge linking the expanding northern reaches of Bata to the city’s airport — designed and supervised end-to-end by Team Group.

The Utonde River Bridge is a road bridge crossing the River Utonde near the town of Utonde, north of Bata in Equatorial Guinea. The structure connects the city’s growing northern suburbs to the airport, spanning the river on three spans of 70–110–70 m with a continuous prestressed reinforced concrete beam deck. The total deck width of 14.3 m accommodates two 3.5 m traffic lanes, side shoulders, New Jersey barriers and pedestrian walkways on both sides.

Team Group managed the full project lifecycle from concept through to handover — including structural typology definition, material selection, concept and preliminary design, final design with bills of quantities, tender documents, contractor selection, checking of the contractor’s detailed design, and full works supervision through to payment certification.
