Two standard gauge railway feasibility studies in Cameroon — opening new freight and passenger corridors from the port of Kribi to the Douala–Limbé coastline.

Commissioned by Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Works, Team Group delivered the preliminary project feasibility study for two new standard gauge railway lines running concurrently between 2017 and 2021.

Lot 1 — Edéa–Kribi–Lolabé (136 km): A double-track standard gauge line connecting the industrial hub of Edéa to the deep-water port of Kribi and the terminal at Lolabé, designed for passenger speeds of 160 km/h and freight at 100 km/h, with a 22.5-tonne infrastructure axle load.

Lot 2 — Douala–Limbé (75 km): A double-track standard gauge line linking Cameroon’s economic capital Douala to the coastal city of Limbé, with the same design parameters as Lot 1.

Both studies covered traffic analysis, track and equipment design, rolling stock and operations, station and workshop identification, bridges, viaducts and tunnels, signalling and telecommunications, bills of quantities, and full economic, financial, legal and institutional analysis.
