A 304 km cross-border railway designed to open faster trade routes between Zambia, Zimbabwe and the ports of Beira and South Africa.

The Kafue – Lion’s Den project connects Lion’s Den in Zimbabwe to Kafue in Zambia, where it integrates with the existing Zambia Railway Network. The new line provides a significantly shorter transit route for freight moving between the two countries, while also offering an alternative corridor to the port of Beira in Mozambique and the seaports of South Africa — unlocking access for landlocked countries further north.

Team Group delivered the full project lifecycle from feasibility study through preliminary design to detailed engineering design, on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Communication.
