The Lagos–Ibadan section is the second phase of Nigeria’s Railway Modernization Project — a new standard gauge line stretching 1,315 km from Lagos to Kano, with connections to Abuja via Minna and Kaduna. The 157 km double-track line serves ten stations and is designed for mixed passenger and freight operations at speeds up to 200 km/h.

Team Group provided technical study and supervision services throughout all design phases, including alignment verification, cross-checking of Chinese specifications against international standards, signalling and telecommunications design, works supervision, and assistance with final testing, commissioning and maintenance procedures.
